What: Summer Institute Marketing & Planning Assistant, Internship.
Where: National Sexuality Resource Center (NSRC), San Francisco State University

Summary: As the Summer Institute Intern, you will assist the NSRC Director of Education and Training
with marketing and planning for the 2008 Summer Institute on “Politics, Education, and
Sexuality.” This position will allow you to gain experience with educational program planning,
exposure to a cutting edge sexuality curriculum, and unique networking opportunities in the
human sexuality studies and a variety of other professional fields. The intern will earn 3
academic credits through the Department of Human Sexuality studies for working 10-15 hours
per week through the Spring 2008 semester. Possibility of continuation of position through
summer exists.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with developing marketing strategies (online, print, outreach)
• Communicate with local and national sexuality programs and departments
• Respond to inquiries from potential participants and maintain contact database
• Assist with program/curriculum development
• Organize and plan fieldtrips, guest speakers, and social activities
Qualifications:
• Enrolled as graduate student at SFSU Spring 2008
• Strong commitment to the mission of the National Sexuality Resource Center
• Background and knowledge of human sexuality field
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including email, Internet, and word processing
• Experience marketing an event or program preferred

program area they work on. NSRC internships are structured to be mutually beneficial to both the student and the
organization. Interns will be accountable to their work plan and their responsibilities. Interns will take part in
consensus decision-making processes and help shape group goals.
