American Sexuality

At American Sexuality we believe sex is more than just an act. We uncover, analyze, explain, and discuss facets of sexuality that mainstream media has overlooked. Smart, engaging, and always a bit controversial, our articles and multimedia pieces will get you thinking and talking about sex in new and broader ways. More>

Summer Institute on Sexuality

Every summer NSRC gathers leading voices on sexuality issues to prepare advocates, students and researchers to embed the concepts of sexual literacy and lifelong sexual well-being into the work they do. Attendees receive college credit, and explore historical and current issues surrounding sexuality through activities, lectures and seminars. The 2009 Summer Institute focus is Gender, Race and Sexuality in the United States. More>

NSRC Councils on Sexuality

NSRC engages in sexual literacy advocacy through the development of strategic, community-advised initiatives aimed at improving people’s overall access to sexual health, well being and happiness—focusing on the intersections of race, gender, faith, age and ability. Sexual literacy councils advise NSRC on professional training, curriculum, advocacy, policy and resource needs of their specific communities. Current initiatives include:

Campus Coalitions for Sexual Literacy

What to do when students, professors and researchers working on sexuality research, education or policy are completely isolated? Create Campus Coalitions for Sexual Literacy across the country. Our four pilot groups—at SFState, University of Austin, University of Maryland College Park and University of Indiana host sexual literacy events, lead regional trainings and inspire cross-disciplinary collaborations that inform policy and promote sexual health and well-being throughout the life-span.
